I've raised £2000 to fund tickets for people who would not otherwise be able to attend the Primadonna Festival.

Primadonna is a new and inclusive festival celebrating the creative community, giving prominence to work by women and introducing fresh voices alongside famous names in a fun and welcoming environment. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Suffolk it covers an entire weekend of eclectic festivities, from interviews, panels, spoken word performances and workshops, to live music, films and food.
It is being put on by a group of women who feel that there is room for a literary festival which gives space to writers who are not usually heard, as well as established ones, across all genders, economic status and ethnicities. Sabeena Akhtar, Joanna Baker, Jane Dyball, Catherine Mayer, Kit de Waal, Shona Abhyankar, Jude Kelly, Alexis Kirschbaum, Lisa Milton, Shola Mos-Shogbamimu, Sonia Purnell, Monisha Rajesh, Catherine Riley, Athena Stevens, Cathryn Summerhayes, Sandi Toksvig and Sioned Wiliam.
We wanted to give an opportunity for people who can afford to make donations for free tickets so that people who would not otherwise be able to attend can attend. Primadonna will match any donated tickets. If there are more funds than ticket requests the money will be used to provide affordable travel support. It is anticipated that Primadonna will apply for charitable status in 2020, but in the interests of getting this festival up and running quickly this account is linked to the bank account of Jane Dyball, who is one of the Primadonnas and who is hosting the festival. Full governance documents are available from primadonnafestival@gmail.com if required.
