I'm Prisca Awiti Alcaraz, I'm 23 years old and compete in the -63kg Category in Judo. I currently represent Mexico internationally but was born and raised in London, UK. am now partly based at the University of bath and CONADE in Mexico, where I train with the Mexican National team.

2019 was a great year for me. I had some of the best results of my career including Gold at my first Continental open, two 5th places at a Grand Prix and Grand Slam and qualified and finished 5th in my first Pan American Games. These along with many other results, have significantly improved my position on the Olympic ranking list. I was due to finish the year inside direct qualification but due to health I had to withdraw from the final event of the year, which has now pushed me just out of direct qualification. I am now holding the continental quota (Still currently within qualfication for Olympic Games 2020) but the main aim in 2020 is to get back into direct qualification. I am determined to have a more successful year in 2020.

The reason I have set this page up is to raise funds for a Grand Prix, Grand slam and an International Training camp, all before Olympic qualification ends at the end of May 2020. The amount I would like to raise is £2,000, which would cover all the costs for 2 competitions and an international training camp. these I believe to be Mtersil OTC in January, Dusseldorf Grand Slam in February and a Grand Prix in Morocco in March. These events are going to be extremely important for the final months of Olympic qualification. Currently, the Funding situation in Mexico is very uncertain and I cannot risk relying on the federation for funding. They have cut our funding completely last minute, which meant I had to pay for the last 2 events of the year and this was not the first time. unfortunately Judo comptitions are very expensive and I cannot afford to do this alone, which is why I am asking for your help in raising the funds for these events. Honestly every little helps!

Competing in the Olympic Games has always been a dream since I was little and anyone who knows me, knows how hard I have worked to get this far until now. 2019 fue un gran año para mí. Tuve unos de los mejores resultados de mi carrera, incluido el Oro en mi primer Continental open, dos 5tos lugares en un Gran Prix y Grand Slam y califiqué y terminé 5to en mis primeros Juegos Panamericanos. Estos, junto con muchos otros resultados, han mejorado significativamente mi posición en la lista de clasificación olímpica. Debía terminar el año dentro de la calificación directa, pero debido a la salud tuve que retirarme del evento final del año, que ahora me ha sacado de la calificación directa. Ahora tengo la cuota continental (todavía en la clasificación para los Juegos Olímpicos 2020), pero el objetivo principal en 2020 es volver a la calificación directa. Estoy decidido a tener un año más exitoso en 2020.

La razón por la que configuré esta página es para recaudar fondos para un Gran Premio, Grand Slam y un campo de Entrenamiento Internacional, todo antes de que finalice la calificación olímpica a fines de mayo de 2020. La cantidad que me gustaría recaudar es de £ 2,000 (52,000 Pesos Mexicanos) lo que sería cubre todos los costos de 2 competiciones y un campo de entrenamiento internacional. estos creo que son Mtersil OTC en enero, Dusseldorf Grand Slam en febrero y un Gran Prix en Marruecos en marzo. Estos eventos serán extremadamente importantes para los últimos meses de clasificación olímpica. Actualmente, la situación de la financiación en México es muy incierta y no puedo arriesgarme a depender de la federación para obtener financiación. Han reducido nuestros fondos por completo en el último minuto, lo que significa que tuve que pagar los últimos 2 eventos del año y esta no fue la primera vez. desafortunadamente, las competiciones de judo son muy caras y no puedo permitirme hacer esto solo, por eso les pido su ayuda para recaudar fondos para estos eventos. Sinceramente, cada pequeño ayuda!

Competir en los Juegos Olímpicos siempre ha sido un sueño desde que era pequeño y cualquiera que me conozca, sabe lo duro que he trabajado para llegar tan lejos hasta ahora. Por favor, ayuda a que mis sueños se hagan realidad y apóyame en mi camino para competir en los Juegos Olímpicos de Tokio 2020.
