I've raised £1500 to Treating Sickle Cell & Developing Girl Child Education

Sickle Cell is a disease which mainly affects people from African or Caribbean family backgrounds. According to the World Health Organisation, it is estimated that 10 to 40 per cent of the African population including Ghana are predominantly the holders of this serious and lifelong disease.
It is important that we help our youth to get the proper medical treatment they need to stop suffering from this painful disease. Some only inherit the gene and may not always experience any clinical complications. However, they still risk passing on the sickle cell gene to future offspring thus potentially and in most unfortunate cases, giving birth to babies who suffer from sickle cell anaemia from the offset. This blood disorder disease is something no child should ever have to endure especially as it something that is inherited with no control. And that is why we need you to help us provide better treatment to cure these kids.
Thousands of young females in Ghana, often under the age of 18 miss out on education due to being on the dangerous roadside, risking their life trying to sell household products to help provide a small income for their family to survive. Aside from being overworked and exposed to numerous hazards, many of these young females are either abused, raped and even beaten up - subjected to all sorts of inhumane treatments which wouldn't have occurred had they been in school getting an education. An investment in knowledge always pays the BEST interest.
Investing in our girls is a catalyst for changing the world - as investing into their education will make them significantly contribute to the development aspirations of the country in the future. We can't build the future for the youth but we can build our youth for the future through education. Offering girls, basic education is one sure way of giving them greater power to enable them to make genuine choices over the kind of lives they wish to live, also encouraging more entrepreneurs.
We need your help to spread this message to not only create awareness but also make a change. Any amount you have can make such a huge difference! Even a simple share of this post to your friends and family can help.
All money raised will be used to provide school materials such stationary & educational supplies needed to get educated, School Uniforms & so on. Also although we may not be able to provide bone marrow treatment for every single sickle cell patient we can make a start by treating the pain & preventing further infections. Excess money will go to providing Pain Killers, antibiotics & dietary supplements such as Folic Acid to help improve anaemia.
Thank you so much for reading this post.
