Story

Yet again the anti-choice group 40 Days for life are back, and have positioned themselves outside the QMC in order to spend 40 days harassing and shaming people for accessing their legal right to reproductive healthcare (as well as potentially upsetting anyone else attending the hospital for any other reason and compromising the anonymity of patients).

Last year Pro-Choice Nottingham ran a successful fundraiser and thanks to everyone’s support, we were able to loudly and joyously present the anti-choice group with a giant cheque, and inform them that their presence had helped raise £560.29 for Abortion Support Network, a charity providing financial assistance and accommodation to women travelling to the UK to access services from the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man.

This year we figured why not run with a good thing, and are once again asking all supporters of choice and bodily autonomy to donate £1 (or however much you can afford) for each day that 40 Days for Life are outside the treatment centre.

This year we will be raising money for Abortion Rights Campaign, who dedicate their energy to achieving free, safe and legal abortion care everywhere on the island of Ireland, for everyone who wants or needs it. For more information about their work, please check out their page https://www.abortionrightscampaign.ie/about-arc/

Thank you once again for your continued support, and of course you’re all invited on Thursday the 14th of April for a street celebration outside the QMC grounds to present the anti-choice group with a giant cheque for Abortion Rights!
