In my community there are about 50 senior citizens who live alone, without means for transport or much interaction with the rest of their elder friends or the town people. On Sundays they are taken to church and once a year at Christmas the local business community come together and organize a Christmas lunch for them. As I am a qualified frail care worker, I am in close contact with these people. I go to their houses, check up on them and help them with small things like cutting their toe nails. However I can only reach a few people each week, as I am working myself. Their biggest problem is loneliness. I have always loved to serve the elder and try and bring some joy and something to look forward to, something to give them some kind of purpose, into their lives.

My dream is to do a course in Ageless Grace body movement and to give back more into my community by getting the elder together once a week for some fun exercises that will stimulate their bodies and their brains and give them something to look forward to.It is my passion to make a positive change in the lives of people who have cared for others all their lives, and are now neglected.

There is a community hall that we can use for free with the chairs on which they sit and do the exercises. I can also organize transport for the elders to and from the venue.

To get this qualification, I need to go to Cape Town. I need the money to pay for the transport and the qualification. In total I need R9000. That is 530 British pound.
