Story

Sadly, due to the current situation with COVID-19, for your safety, and the welfare of our team, we have had to make the difficult decision to close our re-homing centre at this time. Our already small team has already been affected, as our students and volunteers are now self-isolating. We simply cannot work from home, and as the welfare of our animals is paramount; we must ensure that we remain safe and healthy so that we can continue to provide for their integral care.

As our hard working team continues to care for our many rescued animals, closing will have an enormous impact on our income streams, and with so many bills to pay such as our HUGE electricity bill (with all of our animals needing heat and light), large amounts of different foods, medicines/veterinary bills, and utilities such as water rates/electricity, as well as rent. These costs continue to add up.

As a charity, unfortunately receiving no outside funding, we completely rely on funds raised from reptile boarding, our small adoption fee, and kind donations. While we must remain closed, being unable to provide these services will have a massive impact on us.

Although we are closed, we are still here to offer advice and chat about our animals currently waiting for new homes. This time in isolation may be the perfect opportunity to do some research and get your setups ready for when we are able to re-home to you. We’ll be posting pictures and videos of these animals on our Facebook page and website over the coming weeks.

If you are able to support us in any way with the ongoing costs of our animal care, please donate here. If you wish to support us through the donation of other items such as heat bulbs, lighting, or food for out animals, please call or email us directly (Amy at: 01902 218005 / proteusreptiletrust@gmail.com)

Thank you for your ongoing support at this uncertain time.
