Story

42353 is one of the ex prototype HST trailers built in 1972. Although it has been modified since, it is still historically significant. Other trailers from the prototype are already safe, and so this vehicle would be rejoining the rake. The people behind this project are experienced preservationists with the knowledge, skills and contacts to take the project forward.

42353 is currently located at the Doncaster Works of Wabtec having being used as a parts donor for the Castle set project. Discussions have taken place with First Rail Holdings and Great Western Railway and disposal and transfer agreed. Our preferred hauliers, Reid Freight Services, are on standby ready to collect. 42353 would be a long term project, however as it has been partly stripped this gives us a basis to be able to reconstruct the interior in a way to look more like it would have when first introduced (though with some upgrades for useability & practicality).
