I would like to raise funds to support the Halkidiki Animal Rescue centre and Frontizo Animal Rescue centre, and to do so, I am asking you to sponsor me as I ride the Prudential Ride London 100 mile charity bike ride on the 29th of July. The Halkidiki Animal Rescue is operated by a very good friend of mine, Julie Tsiakmakis, who took it upon herself nearly twenty years ago to rescue and neuter abandoned and stray dogs around her adopted home of Halkidiki, Greece. Whenever we visit Greece, we spend our mornings and evenings walking the dogs at her shelter (which she set up adjoining her home). Julie has rescued hundreds of dogs over the years, and this has only been possible due to her unstoppable energy and commitment to helping animals. It goes without saying that this also comes with very limited funds. I would like us to come together and help raise funds to help Julie continue doing the fantastic work she has been doing, and also, as a way of showing her support for all that she has done for the animals of Halkidiki. Frontizo Animal Rescue in Thessaloniki is run by another amazing friend of mine, Sofia Leontiadou, who is often seen rescuing stray and abandoned dogs from the streets of Thessaloniki.
