Story

Penn Street Cricket Club are raising money to support 'Opening Up Cricket'. They work to promote mental wellbeing and suicide prevention through cricket.

Opening Up Cricket was formed in 2014 in response to the death of Sefton Park CC wicket keeper Alex Miller, who took his own life in 2012

The organisation was created with the aim of speaking to local cricketers about the experience of losing Alex in the hope that more conversations about this topic could prevent further tragedies.

Opening Up Cricket have now delivered over 400 sessions across the United Kingdom and Australia.

They are run by unpaid volunteers with help from the National Lottery Community Fund who have provided a grant for sessions costs so that groups can receive them without charge.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, I will withdraw funds directly. It's the most efficient way to donate and saves time and costs.
