    Story

This June, a coalition of US and UK non-profit theatres is coming together in Flint to stage Ibsen's play An Enemy of the People at the Broome Empowerment Village on north Saginaw Street, free for residents to attend.

We are working with the M.A.D.E. Institute in north Flint, to renew awareness about the ongoing water issues in Flint and to create a focus for people from across Flint to come together, have their voices heard and share their ideas and hopes for the future.

Public Enemy: Flint performances are supported by fieldwork UK, UM-Flint Department of Theatre and Dance, Detroit Public Theatre, the Goodman Theatre, Baltimore Center Stage, People's Light, Chautauqua Theater Company and Berkeley Repertory Theatre.

We're now fundraising to help M.A.D.E., our on-the-ground partner in Flint, set up a series of community events, food, talks and music around the production, to help reach further into the community and set up some legacy programs to continue after the performances end.

    Your money will go towards:

    - providing free food and entertainment for 900 people
    - inviting activists and speakers to take part
    - supporting local artists to exhibit and perform their work
    - reaching out to fellow neighborhood organisations in Flint
    - helping local young people take part in the build and performances
    - providing free childcare to enable single parents to be there too
    - working with local film-makers to document the project
    - help support longer-term projects in Flint

M.A.D.E. works with formerly incarcerated individuals and at risk youth, and is interested in creating a community where everyone has equal access to employment, education, full participation in the economical, political and cultural life of the community. So are we.

$20 buys four plates of food
    $200 supports an artist exhibitor
$2000 creates a lasting legacy project for the future
