Weʼre raising £400 to Donate to the Sunderland Foodbank. I’m running 1000 miles to raise money and awareness of a great cause.

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
No one should have to go hungry in the world of convenience we live in, unfortunately there are still far too many people (families), many hard working, who are living below the poverty line. The food bank isn't necessarily a life changing cause, but it could be life saving and it definitely makes a difference.
There's often a big spike in donations up to and around Christmas, but it generally dies away soon after. In light of this, I would just like to do my part to hopefully raise some money and year round awareness for what is probably an easily overlooked and great cause in our city.
Initially I've got a few events/challenges to see through which will hopefully spur you on with your generous donations and I'm hoping to add a few more as I stumble across things!
- Run 1000 Miles in 2018 (Started January 1st)
- Sunderland Half Marathon (Sunday 13th May)
- Gateshead Trail 10k (Saturday 11th August)
I'll update things as I go here and on our facebook page, which you can see at https://www.facebook.com/MabelsMatesSunderland/

Born and bred in Sunderland and just hoping to raise awareness for a great cause. I've ran half marathons in the past, so in theory it's not an outrageous challenge for me, but I've definitely come nowhere near clocking up 1000 miles in a year before.
