I've raised £800 to do a skydive to raise money for Purple wings charity, they help people with ostomys like me recover, adapt and overcome.

I have had my ileostomy for nearly 13 years now due to having Ulcerative colitis.
Since this charity started i met some amazing inspirational people. Lauren the founder is amazing she invited me and 11 other women to take part in a ostomy pin up photo shoot for a calander 2016. I was nervous because I had never stood there in my underwear showing my stoma. Being with other women in the same situation made me feel so much more comfortable. Was the best experience ever. Loved every minute.
This year I took part in a photo shoot again because I felt even better than last time. And knowing there's others there in the same situation makes you realise your not just the only one.
The charity gives out grants to people who are struggling coping with a stoma. It might be days out, short breaks, spas, make overs. Etc.... She also arranges a ball each year with a 3 course meal, disco and a conference in the day time so people can meet up and enjoy themselves knowing we are all in similar situations.
I would love to raise money so I can help Lauren give out more grants to help more people struggling with ostomys.
I have always wanted to do a skydive so why not do it for charity? Mad.....Yes lol
Also I haven't realised how much I am actually afraid of heights... So this is going to be a big challenge. I can't even climb a wall and drop down.....
If anyone would like to read more about the charity please visit the purple wings charity on the web Facebook or the website.
Myself I currently make covers to go over stoma bags to help people feel a little better about themselves. My page is called StomaStyle. I am also making covers with purple wings on which 40% of the sales will go to the charity.
Any questions please ask, many thanks xxx
