Story
Michelle & Barry, managers at Queen of Hearts, Murdishaw, Runcorn are currently using their premises as a temporary foodbank to provide food parcels for the elderly & vulnerable of Runcorn.
They have been sending out around 60 parcels a day, every day from early on in lockdown. An average bag contains fresh bread, long life milk, pasta, pasta sauce, biscuits and soup as well as other non-perishable goods and comes at an estimated cost of £4.50+
All bags are made up of items donated by both the general public & local businesses, and their generosity over the last few weeks has been overwhelming.
Local residents & staff have been raising funds in various ways including raffles with signed merchandise, penalty shoot outs and £forlb weight loss to name a few.
However, with the amount of bags being sent out everyday, this doesn't go very far.
This appeal is asking for you to donate just £1.00 to help keep the food bank running and allow us to continue be able help those most in need for as long as we possibly can.
