Im going fully sober for October !

This year marks my moms 3 year sobriety from alcohol. Growing up from the age of 6 most my memories are memories of living with drunk parents. Me and my sibilins watched as alcohol ruin my moms health, prorities and social life. She'd be drunk all night and alot of the time during the day. I watched her go in and out of hospital, become more and more depressed & get in trouble with authorities. The way life was at home was from ideal and it took 9 or so years of drinking before the doctors told mom if she didnt stop thered be no going back. She attempted hodpital & home detox and lasted weeks, one time months but there was always something that triggered.

September 2014 she was offered a full programme in a residential rehabilitation centre. We knew it was the only option left with a chance of working, so she stopped with the excuses and found the courage to go in.
Two weeks later she returned home and never touched alcohol again. I still dont know what she went through in there or how they got to the core of her problem but whatever happened during those two weeks really did change our lives for the better.

I know the stregnth & the determination it would have took my mom to dig real deap and want to give up the booze. I also know how hard it is to stay away from it every day but each day she does brings a better day the next.

Im so proud of my mom so to show her im going the whole of october without any alcohol. As a thank you to the centre for giving my mom her life back im raising money so they can continue to create success stories.
