    Story

We are a small club which is open to beginners and experienced racerunners- a sport that originated in Denmark over 20 years ago and is now becoming a Paralympic discipline. It allows somebody with limited freedom to move to roll on 3 wheels, fully supported and free to propel with their feet on the ground and direct themselves with handlebars. The money raised will help us cover our annual expenses i.e. insurance, obligatory 6 monthly equipment inspections and occasional repairs.

We are sharing the donations with Brecon Mountain Rescue, on whom we depend for our safety during the Pen y Fan walk and who are also volunteers, The money will enable them to train further volunteers and pay for expenses linked to rescue operations.

National Star Wales & West are 2 further education colleges for students with additional needs. Several of their staff supported our climb last year. The money will be used to buy an outdoor table tennis for each college.

We have been counting and so far the total is just over £1000, once we paid our £1/person fee to the National Trust. Thank you all for supporting this event- it helps with our racerunning insurance costs and lifting gear inspections, but also supports Brecon Mountain Rescue and will at least contribute to one local NSC FE college's table tennis table. However, the event would not have happened, if it was not for our 3 brave mountaineers- they were amazing- well done and thank you !

THANK YOU all for supporting our climb to reach the top of Pen y Fan! We were lucky to gain such strong and experienced mountaineers who flew past us finishing uphill in 52 mins and downhill in 44- with a wheelchair in tow! It added a sense of competition to those who were able to, when the rest of us was just simply pleased to make it to the top and down! What an amazing team you were- hope we can join up again next year! Justgiving link is still open for 5 days if you wish to support us!
