Story
Black Country Women's Aid supported nearly 9,000 women and their children last year to escape violence, overcome trauma and re build their lives.
BCWA helps children that have experienced violence and sexual abuse through one to one counselling and group support.
BCWA can never take away what has happened but they listen, they support and they care.
We need to raise funds to provide counselling for children and young people so they can come to terms with what has happened and make positive plans for the future.
BCWA knows providing a retreat with activities really helps with their recovery, allowing young people to share their experiences, understanding they are not alone.
“I didn’t know what to say. I stayed silent for years, I looked for someone to tell. When I did, I felt a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I was not alone. Sharing my experience with people at BCWA who understand has been difficult, challenging and hard work, but most of all it has been the most liberating experience of my life”
