Story

I'm raising £4,500 to give Forest the rescue dog the chance of a real life after years of suffering.

I'm sending a plea for your help. As you know, we - The Responsible Dog Rescue C.I.C. - don't often ask for money, but we have a special case and I really need you to help us 🙏

We posted about Forest in 2025. His jaw was fused together and he was found, homeless and all alone, by our rescuer. He was only 2. He managed by sucking wet food into the side of his mouth and eating it through a small gap in his teeth which were fused shut. How he survived I will never know. But this boy is a fighter - and as soon as I heard about his case I wanted to fight for him too.

We found him a wonderful foster home in the UK, and a specialist hospital (Eastcott) who were willing to try and give him a better life by trying to separate his jaw. The operation was performed on Thursday, and went well. But it was so expensive. The costs in total come to nearly £5,000 😞

I thought to myself that I needed to do something personal to help the rescue I founded. Not many people are aware, but I am currently fighting stage 3 breast cancer. After a mastectomy in December I'm now facing chemo. One of my work colleagues suggested that I might shave my head for Forest to take charge of my approach to treatment - and make sure that something good comes from it all. "I'll sponsor you" he said. So on Wednesday I'm doing just that - and I'm donating my hair to children with cancer.

Please consider sponsoring me, or just making a small donation for Forest. We have such a large amount of money to raise and I don't know how we are going to do it. But we must.

I will post before and after photos of both Forest and I here 😊

Thank you so much for reading. If you can't donate then please share 🙏
