    Story

We are raising money for the RHSC, in Edinburgh, intensive care unit and the Simpsons Neonatal Unit.

Our little boy was born at 31 weeks and needed life saving surgery as he is a TOF baby. To cut a long story short, his oesophagus wasn’t connected to his stomach, meaning he couldn’t swallow.

On 16th november 2017, our son entered this world and needed life saving surgery at only two days old. We were transported to the sick kids the day after Noahs birth and this is where we met Mr Phill Hammond who was Noahs surgeon.

Mr Hammond told us the ins and outs of the procedure and explained to us we may have the treatment the following morning, depending on how strong our boy was.

Saturday 18th November 2017, we recieved the call to say Noah was strong enough and would be going in for surgery. Mr Hammond again explained everything to us. We kissed our boy goodbye at 10.30am and he went in for his surgery at 11am. We were told there was no rush on this surgery and it could go well into the evening, we tried to keep ourselves busy and at 4pm we finally had the call to say he was out and surgery went well. It was now a waiting game to see how the scar would heal.

We stayed at the sick kids for 12 days and we were transfered back to simpsons neonatal unit on the 29th November 2017 where we have been for the past ten weeks (and counting).

The care and support we have recieved from both RHSC at the simpsons neonatal unit has made us want to give back. we plan on doing many different fund raisers. But i thought i would start this off now as every penny counts.

If anybody can afford to donate anything, big or small, we would be more than greatful.

thankyou for taking the time to read.

Love Rachael, Jamie and Noah x
