Story

We (Deb and Rachel ) are aiming to complete a 24 hour indoor row to raise money for St Barnabas , an Independent Hospice charity that provides free, specialist palliative care for everyone in Lincolnshire and The Lincoln Rowing Centre.

We're also hoping to set a new world record for the longest tandem continual row in the 50-59 heavyweight category ( basically old and fat category!!) The event is taking place at the Lincoln Rowing Centre, Spa Road, Lincoln LN5 7FB on Friday 26 November 2021 at 10am to Saturday 27 November 2021 around 10am, or longer if Debs gets her way !!! There will be spare rowing machines so hopefully people will come and see us and row alongside us for a while to keep us motivated.

Our training started in earnest in September .We've spent many, many hours on the rowing machines, often rowing late into the night or starting at stupid o'clock in the morning to fit a 5 hour row in before or after work. It's taken over our lives, but it's invaluable to give us an idea of what the day will be like both mentally and physically.

Deb already holds the individual world record with a 27 hour row 8 years ago.

We love this sport and get huge benefits from being members of The Lincoln Rowing Centre. Anyone who fancies learning to row, should get in touch with the Club via Facebook and book a free taster session.

So now to the part no one likes- asking for money.

We would be incredibly grateful for any donations, you can donate on this just giving page, or come down on the day to see us.
