Pam was a natural teacher and felt passionately that children learn best in creative settings. When she worked as a special needs teacher in a primary school she worked hard to create new and innovative ways for children who struggle with reading, and often used the arts to do so.

As a governor at Ditchling Primary school Pam went on to forge links with the Ditchling Museum of Art and Craft, so that primary school children could take advantage of using the museum as a creative space for learning. Before dying Pam set up a trust in order for her work to continue. Jenny KilBride and Rachel Burr are trustees of that fund.
