Story
Like me I'm sure you are devastated about the tragic loss of Steve Brown, who died suddenly from Sepsis on 22nd October. I know many of you would like to help Kathryn and their children - Joel (18), Anya (15) and Silas (11) - in any way you can.
Those of us who were privileged to know Steve, will know that he and Kathryn have selflessly given the last 11 years of their time and energy, to help and nurture orphaned teenagers in Uganda. Steve’s income was covered by charitable donations, and so now, at this time of tragedy, there is no employer's benefit kicking in, to support the family. As Kathryn's oldest friend and along with her family, we're launching a fund to help them financially. Some tangible help for the future, while they try to recover and re-build. Whatever we raise won’t come anywhere near to matching the gifts of time and love they’ve given those teenagers and indeed all of us over the years, but it will help them immediately with the practical needs they have right now – cost of living, travel and so on – while providing some support for the children's education needs. It will also act as a buffer for the long term future financial demands Kathryn will be facing. The money will go direct to Kathryn to be used at her discretion. I don't know a more loving, generous-hearted, selfless family than the Browns. Let's match that generosity of spirit today, and help give them a more comfortable future. Please do give what you can - no amount is too small, and do share with all those who knew and loved Steve. Thank you so much.

7 years agoWe are so grateful for your generosity. Kathryn and the family are so moved by the support you have given. We would love to hit the 10K mark before we close the fund, so please do send on to anyone who knows the Browns and who might like to give. Once again a huge thank you to all who have donated.

7 years agoThank you everyone for your hugely generous contributions. We are bowled over by your giving! It's comforting to see so many old friends moved to contribute, but also amazing that so many of our friends who may only have heard about The Browns, and not actually met them, have also wanted to offer some tangible support. And we are truly grateful at this difficult time for your generosity.

7 years agoThank you SO much for your incredible support. I know how moved Kathryn is by your generosity and it's a tangible comfort to the family as they fly into the UK for Steve's memorial service. We're very aware that Steve's influence spread far and wide and there maybe folks who would like to contribute who will not see our Facebook pages. Please do pass the link onto to anyone who knew Steve, as we'd love to see the total climb further to ensure that Kathryn doesn't have to worry about money for the immediate future. Thank you again SO very much.

I remember watching Kathryn and Steve fall in love. And all that love lasted all the years and is still here. Thinking so much about you Kathryn, and the children and the rest of your family xxxx
