Story
As many of you will know, I lost my lovely brother ceri almost two years ago suddenly and unexpectedly.
He has left an immeasurable void in the lives of our family and friends he left behind. He will always be in our hearts and thoughts and we miss him every day .
Ceri was such a happy go lucky and positive young man who always saw good in people and always did what he could to help others.
In Ceri's loving memory I plan to run the Cardiff half marathon on October
1st 2017 (2 weeks time!!!)
I will be running the half marathon to raise funds and awareness of an amazing local charity which is very close to our hearts and will be making such a huge difference to many men who are facing difficulties in their lives or suffering with mental health issues.
The Jacob Abraham Foundation was set up after the death of Cardiff man Jacob Abraham, aged 24, who took his own life through suicide. His death deeply shocked his family and the local community raising questions about the complexities of mental health of boys and men.
Jacob's family decided to set up a foundation in Jacob's memory to help other young men suffering from anxiety, depression and overwhelming feelings of despair. The foundation aims to raise awareness around mental health, and in doing so reduce the stigma, and encourage open conversations about mental health.
The foundation aims to:
-Raise awareness and educate young men of mental health
-Improve access to information around self-care through providing coping mechanisms and signposting men to organisations and helplines (through posters and leaflets)
-Provide training to local communities on suicide intervention and prevention.
-Establish procedures for immediate support and information to be given to family and friends affected by suicide.
(Nicola Abraham)
This charity is already doing so much to raise awareness of men's mental health issues, providing help and support to men in our local communities in their hour of need.
I would be so grateful if you could help me help others xxx

As many of you know I am no athlete!!! I can't quite believe I have signed myself up for a leisurely 13 mile run yet again!!!! My brother Ceri is my motivation and I really want to raise money and awareness for this amazing charity to help others who are struggling emotionally.
