We finally had an appointment last week for Patrick to be tried in a specialist car seat! There was only really this one that suited him because he can't rear face! It's really good because it will grow with him and it supports him so much better! Another benefit was it has a swivel seat so it can be turned towards me to make getting him in and out the car so much more easier and safer! I don't particularly like it 🙈 but if it's good for him then I can't moan! We chose to have it in just plain black material on the quote. Yes I nearly fell over when he handed the paper over!!! Annoying how specialist equipment, toys and clothes cost triple the price of an average buy!! And this is because us parents with children that require these things WILL pay because our children already have enough to deal with so if it makes their life easier, happier and safer etc then we will do our best to get them what they need!! People that make all the stuff out there for our kids charge extortionate prices because they can!! Just like the vest we have for Patrick... £8000!!!! Luckily we got it funded through continuing care! Looks like we will be searching for some charity's to help towards the price of this car seat!! It's not like you can just walk away from something like this when you know your child needs it! There is no cheaper option unless I carrying on taking the risks when I'm putting Patrick in and out of his current car seat and when he's travelling and his head flops forward!
