I am undertaking the 'Extreme Penguin Challenge' to raise monies for The Whiteley Homes Trust charity. Every Month from November 2022 to the end of March 2023 I will be aiming to swim 3000m in a river or lake in only a swimming costume, swimming hat (or bobble hat), gloves and boots (no wetsuit!). At least 2 swims per month must be at least 250 metres.

The monies you raise from this event will be ring fenced for the provision of community activities and support at Whiteley Village which makes The Whiteley Homes Trust so much more than a provider of housing for older people in need. Community is what makes Whiteley so special but facilities such as our club house, village shop and church, all need to be financed through charitable donations and it is particularly challenging to meet those costs as we face a cost of living and energy crisis. Monies are also needed to pay for our support workers who undertake calls and visits with residents, support them with benefit claims and monitor their welfare. Likewise, the events organised by our community services coordinator which can help bring residents together and support their mental and physical wellbeing are unfunded and can only continue with your support. So, Please give whatever you can and do share this with your friends and family.
