My family and I are raising £100 in aid of The Haven Team at Grimsby's St Andrews Hospice for the fantastic care they give to people during the last few moths of their life.

Louise Lambley nee Pate has been battling Cancer for the past year and a half. She has been so brave and such a warrior, she has made us all so proud of her. She has gone through chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy while taking numerous amounts of medication trying to beat this terrible disease, remaining positive and always putting a smile on her face. Lou remained at work the whole time only taking time off for treatments. She was absolutely devastated when she had to give up work in may of this year. She loved working and socialising with family and friends. But sadly on the Wednesday 22nd October 2025 she closed her eyes for the last time.

The Haven Team became a big part of Lou's final weeks, allowing her her wish of staying at home. Their hands-on care, emotional support, dignity and compassion given to Lou along with the support to her family and friends by the care staff during this difficult time was simply amazing. They are all angels and unsung heroes and deserve more recognition for the unselfish part they play throughout our community.
