I am volunteer for Bebington Seacadets which includes marine cadets ages 10 to 18. What makes us different from other organisations such as the Air Force and Army Cadets is that we are not sponsored by the Armed Forces. We are a completely self-funded charitable organisation. We rely on charitable donations, hardworking parents, volunteers and the kindness of strangers in order to keep the unit running.

We are very proud of our unit and our cadets and what they are able to achieve through their own hard work and dedication. We are our own charity and the cadets do a lot of their own fundraising and events. But sometimes we do need a little helping hand.

As we have a constant battle to just keep the unit open. We have to run weekend courses for the cadets but unfortunately at the moment our sleeping accommodation is not up to the standards required for this. So we have to send cadets away on the courses they require and this adds an extra cost to the parents, which can be a struggle in the current financial climate.

As our unit accommodation isn't the best ,and is always last on the last list of many, many things we need (and honestly we do need a lot) This is where we need your help.

We would like to purchase some new folding camp beds for the cadets to sleep on when they are on a weekend stay over for training courses and events. When they do stay over they currently sleep on very old mattresses on the floor. This really is not ideal, but with your help we can hopefully provide a better environment for our cadets.
