    Story

My mother has been a carer for my father for the last 20 years but in the last 10 years developed Parkinsons disease, Arthritis, Angina and Diabetes. In the last 3 weeks my father has taken a terrible fall which left him severely brain damaged, however prior to this dementia had already set in. Prior to this he was already immobile and how they have managed for so long without any help is beyond comprehension. His brain damage is so bad that he needs 24hr nursing care which I cannot give him.

I am now trying to raise the money to build an extension on my house which would be especially adapted for her , made up of a bedroom and a wet room. This lady is still able to make decisions and her memory is fine. It is just her physical body that has slowed down and needless to say she is terrified of going into a care home that she feels she is not ready for.

I just feel I owe it to my mum to try and help her stay with the family that love her and want to look after her as pay back for her giving up her life to care for my father who contracted polio at the age of 4, was run over, had numerous motorcycle accidents, broke his hip, had gangrene in his gall bladder, had a kidney removed along with half of his pancreas caused by cancer.

Please help me raise this money to keep my mother with me so I can become her full time carer.
