In celebration and remembrance of Mr Lawrence Walker an inspiring character , “Colchester Legend” , Able Community Ambassador and Champion of Black Heritage Education and History in Colchester who devoted his life to campaining for racial equality,diversity and education .

Mr. Walker sadly passed away following a short illness at age of 69 , families and friends will love to celebrate the life of this amazing man known and loved by people of Colchester.

Mr Walker was the chairman of the city’s Black History Month and had previously worked at the Colchester Academy Sports Centre. The equal right advocate dedicated himself to educating people of all ages on the struggles which black people have had to confront and fight for centuries.
