    Story

Earlier on this year I had the privelige of making friends with the most wonderful family in the Philippines!! They are a family of three with the most gorgeous three year old little boy and a fantastic mum and dad with amazing family values and morals.
Soon after our meeting this family fell on really hard times. The dad lost his job and very soon afterwards they lost their home They no longer have a warm, dry, comfortable and most importantly safe environment in which they can bring up their son. Their home now consists of a small space that is open on one side to the elements which results in their clothing and bedding getting wet when it rains. The rain can be torential on a daily basis.
They can no longer afford wholesome and nutritious food for their son. Some days they do not eat. They have no money for clothing or just the basic toys and books for their son. They have no money for their sons medications to treat his asthma. They pray that he will not get ill.
So you may ask what they do to try and better their situation? They have tried lots. The dad has recently sat exams to become a police officer but won't know the results until January 2017. The mum worked tirelessly selling doughnuts door to door just to raise enough money to eat. That was until her supplier closed down. She also does laundry for people who live close by but it is not always guaranteed that she will get paid for her hard work. She has chosen to sell anything of value. She doesn't even own a rice cooker anymore.
Why do I want to help them? Well I just feel that in this day and age, everybody should have a safe place to call home. Every child should be able to eat everyday.....That's it!!
£300 will enable them to repair the space in which they live. Somewhere safe for their son to grow up. The rest of the money will be used to buy stock for a small shop that will be run from a small room...a regular income, therefore regular food...why not give them the chance? x
