Story

At the start of the year, our dear friend Rachel was diagnosed with breast cancer. She now faces months of chemotherapy treatment, followed by surgery and radiotherapy. Together with Rachel’s friends and family, we are fundraising to make as much as we can to support the Dimmocks through what will be the toughest few months.

Speaking on behalf of all of Rachel’s friends, Rachel is the most beautiful person inside and out. She is the perfect combination of funny, considerate and kind. Rachel is a fantastic Mum to her and Tom’s lovely daughter, Mia, and sets the most brilliant example every day. Rachel is an incredible friend to us all, and what’s best, she has known for a long time before today how loved she is!

Rachel herself works for a charity, and we hope any money we can raise will support the Dimmocks financially if Rachel is unable to continue being paid. But if not, hopefully this money can give the Dimmocks an opportunity to get away for some well earned family time to celebrate the end of Rachel’s treatment in the months to come.

To inspire fundraising for this cause, 22 of Rachel and Tom's friends will be climbing, crawling and sliding around the 3 mile Milton Keynes Pretty Muddy obstacle course on Saturday 8th June, dressed in pink tutus! There will also be a post-run fundraising event at Potterspury Sports and Social Club from 1pm on the same day, during which some friends will be 'braving the shave' in solidarity, and there will be a prize-winning raffle to enter. The club will also be putting on a barbeque and music and it is sure to be a really fun day all round.

Rachel - we love you. We are all here for you.
