Story

Please sponser me to climb Mt Snowdon on the 14th September. I hope to raise money for two amazing mental health charities - Heads Together and The 401 Foundation. I am climbing Snowdon as part of a larger group called the 'Peaky Minders'. During September 2019 the Peaky Minders hope to raise a phenomenal £50,000 by cycling 750 miles and climbing the four highest peaks in the UK (the Snowdon climb is just one element of this amazing charity event).
Why am I doing this I hear you ask....well I, like many others have been affected by episodes of poor mental health. For me it was a short lived period of post-natal depression but for others it can have debilitating long-term effects leading to self-harm and even suicide. With this in mind I would really like to show my support by raising awareness, and a bit of money of course to do my bit to help.
Heads Together is a mental health initiative spearheaded by Princes William and Harry which not only raises money for smaller mental health charities but also helps to tackle the stigma associated with mental health.
The 401 Foundation is a small charity founded by Ben Smith who after suffering with poor mental health and even attempting suicide himself decided to run 401 marathons in 401 days to raise awareness of people's struggles with mental health. Please help me to raise money...even if it is just a few pennies. If you haven't got the pennies to spare please drop me a message of support or at least think of me hauling my sorry ass up a mountain on 14th Sept....all will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Rachel xxx
