In September this year, I got hit by a van on a young horse who was learning her job. She didn’t deserve that sort of trauma. The driver hit us and then drove off! He wasn’t patient, he ignored our desperate pleas to stop, he hit my poor young horse and then drove off without a care in the world leaving us both seriously hurt on a major road. The police can‘t find him.

Since the accident I cannot work. I cant walk without crutches and i‘m taking liquid morphine & cocodamol daily for the pain. I have a broken tibia in two places, a dislocated knee, a torn ACL & a torn Meniscus. I need to have a knee reconstruction which will cost £6000+, money which I don’t have. I can have an operation with the NHS, but not until 2023!

I have worked tirelessly to get my Equine Service off the ground, after sadly retiring from being a flat jockey just last year. I moved to a new area not knowing anybody, and after a year of hard work I now have clients and work to be proud of. I have let my clients down all because this man wouldn’t wait 5 seconds for me to pull in and let him past.

All I want to do is get back to normality and walk again. I miss my horses, I miss my work and I miss not walkng up in agony every day. Any donation big or small will mean more to me than anything, so I can get the operation I need.
