Radio Warrington was set up in 2007 to be "The voice of Warrington" for local people to publicise and promote their events, projects and campaigns.
We are a community radio station run by over 35 unpaid volunteers and have been broadcasting on 1332AM from studios in Warrington Indoor Market since 2016.
We have an estimated 10,000 local listeners on AM and around 4,000 worldwide listeners online or using the phone app. We broadcast 24 hours a day with shows from 6am until midnight.
We discuss local news and publicise hundreds of community events. We support over 400 local charities and community groups per year. We are visited by around 150 guests or groups into the studios to discuss their business, charity, group, event or campaign. We also broadcast street-by-street traffic updates to help local motorists avoid the queues.
Although we are all unpaid volunteers including the management, we need funding to pay for an experienced Studio Manager who will provide direction and training for those who wish to learn how to operate the equipment or conduct and edit interviews. This would be a part-time role which would facilitate far more opportunities for us to get out and engage with our community to publicise all that is great in our town.

We also need to upgrade the music play out software that we use to run our radio station 24 hours a day. Our current software is unsupported and will only run on old struggling computers. Current software is licenced monthly.

We want to continue supporting our community and their causes.
