Rainbow Bedfordshire story

We are a community-based LGBTQ+ organisation based in Bedfordshire, providing groups/activities/events for queer/LGBTQ+ people

We aim to improve the social connectedness and well-being of LGBTQ+ people.

We are solely run by volunteers who have a lived experience of being LGBTQ+ and we operate on a non-for-profit basis.

As we know currently LGBTQ+ people experience more economic disadvantages, health inequalities, isolation and discrimination than other populations. Because of this, we have made most of our groups/activities/events free or at a low cost.

We are asking for your help to keep Rainbow Bedfordshire going for the LGBTQ+ people in Bedfordshire. Your money would help us keep our vital groups running. We will be able to book activities/events venues, buy craft items, pay for website fees, employ sports coaches, rent storage space and therefore be able to run events for local LGBTQ+ people.

We currently run several activities/groups that we would like to continue providing at a low cost or free at a time when there is a rising cost of living and an increased financial cost for us to bear as an organisation.

The groups/activities/events we currently run are;

LGBTQ+ Trans inclusive swimming sessions

LGBTQ+ social group

Trans/non-binary multi-sports sessions

Queer craft group

Singing group

LGBTQ+ online group / Trans fem online group

Trans evening social group

Trans/non-binary clothing swap/shop (all items free)

We host many LGBQT+ events throughout the year celebrate local LGBTQ+ artists and performers and connect the LGBTQ+ community.
