I'm a 35yr old single mum to my 22 month old boy and we are homeless.
I wasn't homeless 4 weeks ago, it's a big story to how we became homeless and it hasn't been without a big fight to not be.
I'm still working as hard as I was prior to having no home, working hard on getting a home for us and to help others in this same situation because believe it or not this happens to a lot of family's every day, in fact the caravan that me and my son are currently living in was offered to me by my friends who has also been in this situation 7 years ago with her family, 2 adults and 4 kids homeless and living in the caravan and they too didn't receive any help at all, so it could even happen to you - sad but true - anyone at any given time is closer to homelessness than they believe to be and what do you do if you find yourself in a homeless situation?! Easy right?! Go to your local council to get help and support and a home whether it be temporary or permanent there's help because been homeless you have priority right?! Been homeless with a child you definitely have priority right?! Been homeless with a child that has severe health issues, no question of priority right?! Well sadly the answer to all of those is NO!! You may not believe that because it's so ridiculous I know but it really is true.
