Wimbledon Town are raising money for our striker and friend Dan Bowden who has sadly sustained serious injuries from a challenge made on him during our first game of the season. Dan got knee‘d in what looked like his ribs, he went to A&E struggling to breathe and was later sent home with painkillers. A few days later Dan was rushed to hopsital in an ambulance originally needing emergency surgery, since then we now know that there is fluid (blood) in his abdomen and his kidney has ruptured due to a large tear, which has caused the blood to clot. Dan has been moved to a specialist hospital, Guy’s, and we are waiting to hear more on whether he’ll be going into surgery. We are all in shock that this happened to Dan, who was happy to be back and enjoying his football. We send our love to him and his family and will be supporting them at this difficult time. Dan is self employed with a partner and five children, so we are hoping to get some money raised for him and his family.
