Story

ATTENTION ALL VISIITORS, MASSIVE NEWS IN REGARD TO AMANDA'S APPEAL:

It’s fair to say that when I set up this page ten weeks ago, none of us – Amanda, her family, me and my family really knew much about fundraising. Everyone involved in Amanda’s Appeal has come a long way since then. We now know that the most effective way to raise money is to work in conjunction with a charity. The money that is raised for Amanda’s Appeal will grow so much more quickly if we do this. Their charitable status makes it a lot easier for us to approach trusts, corporations and independent businesses for donations of money, and goods and services for raffle prizes. They can also legitimately help us to claim GiftAid on the individual donations they receive. So, over the next week we will be moving into the second phase of our fundraising campaign. We are going to work in conjunction with Just4Children, charity number 1164473 through a new JustGiving page. By doing this we can gain the significant benefits of charitable status and get to our target amount more quickly.

I want to thank you sincerely for your most generous support so far. Your donations, kind messages and the time you have spent sharing this story and spreading our request for help have been overwhelming. We do hope you will continue to follow and support Amanda’s cause. You can do this by using the new JustGiving page

or by checking out our progress on

We want to reassure you that all the money that has been donated to Amanda during the first phase of our fundraising campaign using this page is safe. The money that has been donated will go towards her treatment. We have set up the Wordpress page so that everyone who has already given money during the first phase of our fundraising campaign can see what part their donations continue to play as we work towards our goal to raise the total of £100,000 now required.
