Eleri is 14 years old and has Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type II. (SMA). A genetic neuromuscular condition that effects the nerves responsible for muscle function. Due to her condition, Eleri has always had and will always have limited strength. She has always required physical assistance. Eleri has never been able to do some of the simple things in life we take for granted. Things like brushing her own hair, brushing her teeth. She also needs helping eating and drinking from cups when she is tired.

Eleri, is an inspiring young lady who has aspirations of becoming a journalist. She has her own blog, she has begun writing a fan fiction and she loves playing on her X-Box, watching Marvel movies and all sorts of anime, all the regular teenage things, but she usually needs help to do the things she loves.

Due to her limited strength, Eleri needs help with writing in class when she is in school and she has a one to one LSA who scribes for her. She would love to be able to write for herself, or raise her hand to answer questions posed by her teachers.

A "Neater Arm Support" will literally change her life. It will give her the opportunity to add the finishing touches to her appearance on a daily basis without her mum having to brush her teeth and hair. She'll be able to feed herself and drink from a cup no matter how tired she is. And, most importantly for Eleri, she'll be able to interact in class on a level with her peers, writing her own work and raising her hand when she wants to answer questions.
