Don't have time to donate right now?

    Story

Since its inception in the year 2013, Muslimahs 4 the nation Zimbabwe (M4N) , has every year provided iftaar meals throughout the month of Ramadhaan to various poor, underprivileged and disadvantaged communities, as well as widows, the elderly and families who are struggling in Zimbabwe.

The community iftaar programs usually take place during the weekends, as it is a time when the majority of the community is available.

M4N identify communities they would visit in advance, collect the information require, inform the community of the day of arrival and then make the necessary arrangements for a team to go out and spend time with the community on the agreed date.

M4N try to maintain a few areas, the same areas each year, making it easier them and the communities and thus building a good relation with the community, and giving them something to look forward to every Ramadhaan, alhamdullilah.

A team (comprising of M4N sisters, volunteers, shuyukh and duat) set off early during the day and head for the community which they would have arranged to meet for that day, aiming at arriving in the community for Zuhr salaah, after Zuhr salaah, have a few reminders then a team of sisters get busy in preparing the iftaar and meal whilst others sisters and children remain busy with lectures, lessons, activities , including Islamic quizzes that are looked forward to and bring about much excitement, these quizzes come with prizes that are eagerly anticipated, after Asr salaah the men of the community gather as well and the shuyukh/duaat of the day takes over with lectures , addressing all men women and children present up until Magrib salaah.

M4N programs are open for the non-Muslims of the community to attend as well, as a way of educating them on Islam and fostering good relations between different religions in the community so as to live in peace and harmony.

At the adhaan of Magrib Iftaar is served, M4N usually provide dates, fruits, biscuits, tea, bread for Iftaar, after Magrib salaah food is served, M4N usually provide rice, sadza (local staple food), vegetables and meat (chicken, beef or goat meat, whatever would be easily available on the day) with drinks.

M4N also distribute Islamic literature, clothing, food items and gifts when available.

The day ends with Esha salaah and Taraweeh and all depart for their respective homes after a day full of the remembrance of Allah, community togetherness, learning the deen and enjoying Iftaar, a meal and taraweeh prayers alhamdullilah, looking forward to the next time.

M4N visit poor, underprivileged, deprived communities; these Iftaar programs help bolster community spirit, and bring a feel of Ramadhaan to the communities

It is worthy to note that most of these communities suffer from lack of food all year round, some going days with only water subhanallah , for most these Ramadhaan Iftaar programs are the only time in the year that there get a decent meal, as well as meat which is classed a luxury, which there get to enjoy during Ramadhaan programs or Eid programs.

In order for M4N to continue these programs during Ramadhaan they require the continued duas and support of us the global ummah.

Contributions and donations in cash or kind all go a long way in assisting the successful hosting of these events; nothing is too little or too much for the sake of Allah, M4N work with Sadaqah, Lillah, Zakat, Fidyah, Kaffarah accordingly.

With all costs included to host one of these community programs on average is approx. $200/250 USD which is equivalent to £145/180 (this includes all the food items, the fuel for cooking (fire wood or gas), fuel for the generator for lighting, as when its dark there is no form of light in these communities except moonlight, as well as transport cost for the team of the day from a central point of meeting to the venue and back to the central point, it is important to note that due to the economic situation in the country the price of food items and meat and fuel change rapidly and randomly)

Alhamdullilah during Ramadhaan M4N also try to provide Iftaar packs for widows, the elderly and needy families, so there can enjoy a happy, healthy and peaceful Ramadhaan and not worry were and how there would find something to break fast with.

Iftaar packs are basic and contain basic food items only at an approximate cost of $100 USD which is equivalent to £75 a month per widow, if donations are in surplus we improve the packs from basic and add other food items as well as assist them in covering some of their basic needs for the month of Ramadhaan.

During Eid M4N organise community Eid programs in poor communities, revert and new Muslim sisters Eid functions, children and orphans Eid parties as well, which include lessons and lectures, fun activities, food and gifts.

It is in light of this M4N reaches out to us as the global Muslim community and request our support towards these programs which bring hope, educate and unite poor communities in Zimbabwe.

M4N require financial assistance, food items in kind, Islamic clothing and anything that can help towards making these programs successful InShaaAllah.

M4N can facilitate the donation in kind from many parts of the world as well, alhamdullilah.

Hadeeth "Whoever gives Iftaar to one who is fasting will have a reward like his, without that detracting from the reward of the fasting person in the slightest.” Tirmithi

Feeding the fasting person is a great act of worship, good deed, with many great rewards, won’t it be even greater when it is a poor fasting person who many a times has nothing to eat.
