Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
My name is Randall Thomas. I'm a young man from the British Virgin Islands, which is a Caribbean country that was caught up in the recent hurricane Irma disaster. My father's business was destroyed and my home severely damaged. Currently, I am living in the UK as I was pursuing my MSc. Though I work, my student visa restricts me to working part time and so I relied on my family to provide the additional support of which they can no longer provide. The work restrictions will be lifted at the end of this month (September 30th), however that is not enough time to earn the money myself before my rent is due on October 15th. On top of this, my lack of a UK guarantor forces me to pay large sums of rent upfront. The money I am trying to raise is to assist in paying this lump sum, allowing me to have shelter for another month. Once I am able to work full-time I will be able to handle things therein.
I'm just a young man trying to get his feet firmly planted. Will anyone help me? Thank you for your time, and even more so your contributions.
