Story
We are raising money to repair the Kidz Klub building, Middleton so they can reopen.
Due to external damage, the roof has been damaged in 4 places, as well as internal decorating and floor of the building needing urgent repair to be able to reopen. Since the first lockdown in March 2020, the owner Alexis has been unable to open or earn funds to make these repairs. Alexis has sought legal advise for guidance which has outlined that she is fully liable for any building repairs needed as the leaseholder, which was a massive blow, especially as she is locked into a 10 year lease.
Obviously since lockdown, Alexis has had to refund all booked parties which was a major blow and has also been unable to make any new bookings which has taken a hit to her expected income.
She has water bills, electric bills, coffee machine hire, bins, business rates and business insurance which she is also locked into and must be paid, regardless of the club being closed.
The council grants have really helped with the business rates but Alexis is still left to cover the rest from her own savings, which was intended to be for IVF treatment. As this is a family run business, this has impacted not just Alexis, but also her husband and the emotional strain of potentially losing their club, but also now there's now no money left, Alexis and her husband are running out of hope.
Alexis is a hard working, dedicated family woman who has tried everything possible to keep this landmark of a Middleton venue open as she knows how important this is to local families and it would be heartbreaking for her and for the community if this were to close it's doors permanently.
This isn't just a soft play centre. It's a place for parents to meet and socialise with other parents too in a comforting and familiar environment for children. Parents can see their children play, join in birthday parties and even dance classes which will be vital when restrictions lift to get children back to a bit of normality.
Little by little, it would be amazing if the community and local businesses could support this cause to help Kidz Klub raise enough money to pay for these essential and urgent repairs so they can reopen their doors.
We know £7,000 now is a massive target to aim for but know that together, Middleton can achieve anything.
