What is crowdfunding?

Story
My parents recently started looking after adults with learning difficulties. They keep using their own cars. A van will allow them to take all the adults together in one van. Also they are looking for a base so the extra money will allow them to pay rent for a base where they can take all the adults.
Their aim is intergrate the adults with learning difficulties with society and allow them to have a choice and do stuff they enjoy
