Story

We are looking to raise money for a new Men in Sheds in Peel and for the Scouts hut in Peel.

Men in Sheds, provides retired men with a regular opportunity to meet and and join with others in a workshop setting, for metalwork, woodwork and more. A social hub, Men In Sheds has been successfully set-up in Port Erin & Ramsey.

We are riding from Land’s End to John O’Groats from September 8th to 22nd 2018 to help raise money for these wonderful causes.

Day 14 - Finish- an amazing day Past the rivers and salmon fishermen about 11:40 we saw our first glimpse of the Atlantic Ocean. Tricky hills soon gave way to flats. The rain ☔️ stopped, the sun came out and we saw the Orkneys we knew the finish was in sight. The wind moved behind our back as we raced to the finish. I have never cycled faster. Saddle sore, in fact sore everywhere and very very tired but it has been incredible. Thank you so much to everyone for all your support it has been amazing and pushed us through.

Day 13 - To the top! From Inverness we started in light drizzle, but the journey today was flanked by lochs and rivers as we headed northwards. After lunch we were treated to an incredible route along a salmon river where you could see them leaping upstream. At the point of giving up, the route descended into the most stunning array. Cycling pass the foot of a rainbow the birds of prey lifted pass. The colours were extraordinary. Finally our destination and warmth with little else for miles and miles.

Day 12 - Today started bright and blustery as we made our way through the Cairngorms to Inverness. Scotland is big, wide and beautiful and the highlands have a unique wild beauty. The winds although a fraction of yesterday were predominately headwinds and even at a descent of 20% the bike was stationary without pedalling. The pine forests, rivers, glens, and bridges bless the lowlands and a rainbow announced our entry to the ski lifts. A sharp descent saw crosswinds nearly take the bikes as we headed to Inverness.
