Story

The village has endured three serious flooding events in the last 20 years and the Great Shefford Flood Alleviation association has been set up for the benefit of the community, the preservation of human life and property and the protection of the environment. To seek to provide, preserve ,maintain, restore and or improve flood defences, protection measures and damage remediation in the parish of Great Shefford but specifically for areas surrounding the Shefford Stream.
To work alongside the Environment Agency to implement their chosen flood risk management scheme to prevent the reoccurrence of the flooding experienced in 2000/01 and 2014 along the Wantage Road.
We need to raise £80,000 towards the EA's preferred scheme.
