I've raised £500 to Local Mental Health and Suicide Prevention services

On the 21st of November, 2020 a brother, uncle, great-uncle, godfather and friend left this earth so unexpectedly and suddenly.
Sadly, Uncle Mickey committed suicide. There were no warning signs, no clues. Our lives changed forever the day we lost Mickey and as a family, we want no other family to experience the pain and sadness we have all gone through since losing Mickey.
Our local community has been hit hard in recent times with a pandemic - a mental health pandemic. We want to do our part to help address this issue and through Mickey’s memory, we as a family have organised a memorial weekend.
Mickey Macs Memorial Weekend takes place August 13th-15th. Details can be found on the Facebook page ‘Ray of Hope’ and in local newspapers. Donations can be made on the day at any of the events over the weekend.
Our aim is, through raising money, that mental health services can be easily accessed locally and promoted. We also aim to highlight awareness of experiencing poor mental health and to put the message out there ‘that its ok not to be ok’ and the importance of ‘reaching out and TALKING to someone if it all becomes too much’.
Thank you all so much for your support, messages of good luck and for playing a part in helping promote positive mental health.
In memory of Mickey McPhillips 🌟
