I've raised £500 to help the "Greek Children's Village" in Filyro, which provides family-style care for vulnerable, abandoned and abused children.

Just a few kilometres out of the city of Thessaloniki, on the top of Filyro, on a dry, rocky and hardly accessible location with a wonderful view, all a sudden a small, colourful town popped up: The first "Greek Children's Village". The first eight houses, an administration building and a church. As well as thousands of trees that changed the scenery.
The Children's Village was brought to life with children's voices. Its establishment was spurred by the lack of a place for long-term hosting of orphaned and abandoned children or children coming from a problematic family environment. Also by the need for a type of children's protection of non- institutional nature that would provide family support, safety and education.
