We are team Perham from NCS the challenge. We have partnered up with a local community group Aspergers United. Their aims are to support and provide activities for children suffering with autism and Aspergers. We got the chance to meet some of the individuals in the group and play some games with them, for example bench ball, however Pokemon hunting was just as fun!! After meeting some of the youngsters our team felt inspired by them and what they face, and felt that we had became very passionate and wanted to raise awareness of this condition as over 700,000 people are out their living with it. To do this we are holding an events day for the youngsters in the group, however to maintain a efficient budget of £57 we are also doing fundraising. Our team is known to be very talkative and loud, therefore we have decided to do a sponsored silence on the 12th of November, lasting and hour and a half, in an attempt to raise money for our budget. We are aiming to raise £90 from this and all other money we hopefully raise will go directly to Aspergers United. As they are not funded by the government we would like to help them by funding for some of the activities they could hold in the future. Aspergers is known to be a hidden condition, therefore not many people are aware and people who suffer may not come forward or even be diagnosed. Therefore our biggest aim is to raise awareness of the condition and educate the public more.
