Our new group for Read Easy Southampton is up and running! We provide free, confidential one to one reading coaching to adults over the age of 18. The response from people in Southampton who want help with literacy has exceeded our expectations - and we need to train more coaches!

In addition to training coaches we need to pay their travel costs - they work for free, travelling to meet their readers. We also need to fund all our publicity and the purchase of materials. We have raised our target to meet more of our future commitments.

It costs £28 to train one coach - can you contribute to our cause and help change the life of someone who needs to learn to read? Around 15% of the adult population struggle with basic literacy. This means everyday tasks such as going shopping, reading bills or timetables, filling in forms or understanding health warnings are all a huge challenge. These difficulties leave people feeling isolated, with anxiety and low self-esteem.

Read Easy helps to change the course of someone's life and open up many opportunities. Help us continue to give the gift of literacy to those who are missing out.
