Story
Announcing #ReadForPalestine, a fundraiser from friends Naseerah (@opacarophvlia) and Ross (@readsbyross). We are appalled by what is happening in Gaza right now and we want to turn our feelings of helplessness and despair into action, because that is what is crucial right now. Combining our followings and love for books, and in an effort to do what little we can, we’ll be running a fundraiser over the course of September, with the aim to raise as much money as we can for Dignity for Palestinians, a community-based initiative in Gaza that provides essential support like food parcels, clean water and based health services to the people who need it.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE🍉
To take part is simple—we ask you to pledge to donate £2/€2 per book that you read in September. We understand times are tough, so if you’d prefer to give a smaller lump sum, that would also be appreciated!
And if you are unable to donate at all, then you can contribute by spreading the word: engage with our posts, share and comment. Our goal for the month is to raise £5000, and we know with this incredible community, we can smash that!
Sign up to our Substack (readforpalestine.substack.com) to find out more information, including our group read for the month which is FOREST OF NOISE by Mosab Abu Toha. We’ll be doing weekly updates to track our progress and discuss the book, amongst other things.
For now, we really hope that you will join us—whether it’s 2 books or 10 books, every little helps and every pound/euro is going to an important cause: the dignity for those who are suffering.
