Story
200,000 children will leave primary school unable to read
1-in-4 five-year-olds now struggles with basic vocabulary
96% of primary school teachers said they were concerned about pupils' speech-and-language development
The outcomes for the children who are unable to read are bleak.
We want to ensure every child can read well when they go to secondary school.
We hear 1,00 children in Gloucestershire read twice a week. These children not only develop their reading but also their communication and social skills and confidence.
We need to reach 2,500 in September. Please help to transform the futures of these children.
Thank you very much.
